Investigation on the natural infectious status of Hantaviruses in rodents in Haidian district, Beijing

【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the situation of the natural infection of Hantaviruses (HV) in rodents and provide the guidance for the control and prevention of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in Haidian district, Beijing. Methods Rodents were captured by night trap, and lung tissue samples were taken out and stored in liquid Nitrogen. HV was detected by indirect immuno?fluorescence assay (IFA). Results There were 225 rodents captured in different habitats of Haidian district,  which belonged to 3 species and 2 Genera. Rattus norvegicus was the dominant species in the habitats investigated. The total natural infection rates of HV in rodents ranged from 4.60% to 20.00%, and the average was 6.22%. Different species had different natural infection rates. The rate of infection among R.norvegicus and Mus musculus was 6.96% and 6.06% respectively, while Apodemus agrarius was not infected. Conclusion The rodents were infected by HV in Haidian district commonly, and its main host was Rattu Genera.

Analysis on Epidemic Condition of Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome in Haidian District of Beijing

Objective:To study the epidemic condition of Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome(HFRS),the infection distribution of Hantaviruses(HV)in mice,serotype of prevalence case in Haidian district of Beijing.Method:IFAT MCPENT.Results:There were 43 cases in this district during 1997-2000.4 cases died,the mortality rate was 9.3%.These cases showed the epidemic character of increasing incidence rate and high sporadic with relative concentration.Among some of Prevalance cases(27 cases),26 cases were SEO serotype,1 case was SEO and HTN serotype with equal antibody title.Maybe it was infected by HV of two serotypes.The cover infection rate of people was 2.1%.There were extensive infection of HV in mice,the infection rate was 7.32%- 32.90% per year.The infection index of mice was higher,it was positive correlation with the incidence rate of people.Conclusion:The basic epidemic character in this district was the increasing incidence rate and high sporadic with relative concentration.There were extensive infection of HV in mice.The serotype of most cases were SEO serotype.
